Sad Summer Festival Announces Postponement Amid Covid-19

It will truly be a Sad Summer after all but 2021 looks bright

Since the start of the Coronavirus Pandemic, millions have been worried about not only their health and the health of their loved ones but also their jobs. One of the industries that has taken a detrimental hit is the music world. Hundreds of tours have already been either postponed or cancelled, leaving thousands of individuals without a way to pay their bills. One tour; however, that had been holding on was Sad Summer Fest.

Since the beginning, Sad Summer Fest has been completely transparent with their fans – releasing several statements about their concern for fans, staff and artists alike, while also acknowledging that they didn’t want to act prematurely. Today, SSF made the final announcement that many fans, unfortunately, saw coming – Sad Summer Fest will be postponed until the summer of 2021.

While hundreds are disappointed they won’t be seeing and meeting their favorite bands this summer, we understand this is absolutely necessary to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the tour.

ON AN EMOTIONAL LEVEL, THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR US, AS WE HAVE INVESTED OUR HEART AND SOUL INTO SAD SUMMER. HOWEVER, THE SAFETY OF EVEN A SINGLE FAN IS NOT SOMETHING WE ARE WILLING TO RISK.”

But every dark cloud comes with its own silver lining – Sad Summer announced that this year’s lineup will return for 2021, ‘Top to Bottom‘. Those who have already purchased tickets will have them honored at the new dates, in addition the SSF team is promising those with tickets “a lot of perks and benefits to thank you for your loyalty.”
