Siiickbrain LA-based experimental rock artist Siiickbrain teams up with artist Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova on single, “Power.” The two conjure up a storm on the empowering track — ensuring what will surely be an iconic release.

“Power” kicks off with a pensive and swirling guitar riff before kicking into a punchy punk beat. The track pulls inspiration from movie, Fight Club and Siiickbrain takes back her power by creating a femme-fused track. “Is it wrong to want back some power?” she screeches and chants. This comes as the follow up for her December track, “Pin Cushion.” Siiickbrain conveys the message that women can take back any power that’s stripped away from them.

She is accompanied by Russian protest artist Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova who counters the grit of Siiickbrain’s in-your-face attitude. Tolokonnikova is no stranger to empowerment music, as she is a part of the punk rock performance art group notorious for challenging all norms. She adds a frilly verse, a goody-two-shoes delivery that comes off eerily. Siickbrain contrasts Tolokonnikova’s feminine croon with high voltage vocals to keep the breakdown heavy. “Sisterhood is the best thing on the planet, and this song to me is about empowering each other,” shares Nadya Tolokonnikova.

The music video for “Power” is currently premiering on Alternative PressSiiickbrain and a diverse cast of friends to reinvent her feminist version of Fight Club. The all-female video highlights the raw power of women. Andrew Sandler directs the video alongside  part of the team behind Machine Gun Kelly’s Downfalls High, which Siiickbrain appeared in.

Siiickbrain is the musical persona of model Caroline Miner Smith. Her roots are in a rural town, and upon moving to New York to pursue a full time career in the modeling industry, Smith found herself writing poetry in her spare time as a creative outlet, and uses it as means to cope with her own anxiety and personal demons. After being hit with a close personal loss, Caroline took a leap of faith into finally pursuing her music. She says “I really was hit with the reality that life is too fragile. I want to do what makes me happy and realized that I had nothing to lose by taking this leap. I just want to reach people and help them feel empowered to be themselves.”

Lend an ear to Siiickbrain if you like Dana Dentata, TOOPOOR, Maggie Lindenmann and Gurldoll. Siiickbrain is an experimental artist tiptoeing on the lines of punk rock, screamo, trap and pop. She looks forward to sharing more of her music in upcoming projects set for the future.
