Right now, we have to talk about a young singer/songwriter who is using TikTok to help pave the way for her budding music career.

Indie pop artist, Ella Jane may only be 18 but her vocals are quickly gaining the attention of many across TikTok. With nearly 30K followers and over 1.3 million likes, Ella is clearly one to watch. Earlier this year she released her first single, “The City”, which has quickly racked up over 1.5 million streams on Spotify. Its smooth melody matched with velvet vocals atop an indie drive beat make for an easy listen. Originally written at just 17, in less than one month, Ella found her single featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Playlist that houses over 700K listeners. That playlist would soon bring on a collaboration with another young TikToker that goes by the stage name, Young Friend. With Ella residing in New York and Young Friend in Vancouver – both refused to let distance or quarantine stop them from creating music and in just a few days the duo created the absolute banger, “Arizona”. “Arizona” would go on to be featured on that very same playlist that started it all. Recently Ella released her latest single, “nothing else i could do” – which hits deep with a strong bass line.
Along with promoting her own original music, Ella brings forth reimagined covers from chart-topping artists like the Jonas Brothers and their single “Lovebug” – where she delivers her rustic vocals along with the adorable lyrics from our youth. Ella even made the bold attempt in covering the illustrious Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift – both of which she absolutely nailed.
Fueled with powerful voices, it comes as no surprise that Ella is currently a music major. On top of her original hits and brilliant covers, Ella creates elegant duets with fellow TikTokers that bring on instant chills. Despite her age, Ella brings forth relatable lyrics draped in wisdom well beyond her years to funky beats. With her following growing by the day, it’s safe to suspect an EP may be on the horizon.
