For this TikTok Tuesday, we wanted to highlight someone who takes songwriting to a new level. At first, Taylor Bickett appears as just another girl with her guitar, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. With a voice like honey and stunning lyrics to match, she makes herself stand out. Ever since she hit our ForYouPage we’ve been waiting to see what she’ll do next.
Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Taylor currently attends college at Belmont University in Nashville – a music savvy town full of rich music history. At just 21 years old, she has acquired quite a lot of necessary experience. Her first milestone on her music journey was a radio feature for her original song, “Get to be Lost.” Then, she took to TikTok where her poignant, yet relatable lyrics struck a chord with her audience.

After joining the platform back in March performing covers and popular trends – it wasn’t until she started sharing her own original work that she gained her popularity. Her songs began to gain traction in April when she released “Break My Own” – a stunning track about the games we play in love, singings, “I’m the type to say I forgot your birthday/Not ‘cause I did but because I’m afraid/You’ll think I care, paint a shockingly relatable picture of how we view relationships.”
Shortly after, she released a collaboration with popular TikTok creator, Dasha Novotny in a the track, “Just My Type”. The song, which she eventually released on the app in its entirety, is a heartbreaking depiction of a toxic relationship. The melody is infectious, paired with powerful vocals and well-executed runs.
At the moment, Taylor has 241.7k followers with over 2.8 million likes on the app. With aShe has also started posting demos to her Soundcloud account, including a new song titled, “New Soap/Wasting Time.” The lyrics touch on feelings of longing, like when she sings “It makes me think of being with you/and it makes me wonder what we’d do if things were different.”
With this new song, Taylor seems to be geering up for something bigger, and maybe more official. Her followers have been asking for months for Apple and Spotify releases so that they can add her to their playlists. She has been teasing an official drop for quite awhile now and in one of her recent Instagram posts she said, “I’ve been doing tons of work on my original stuff lately and [am] going to be recording and releasing SOON, so stay tuned.”
Taylor’s following only keeps growing with her budding talent. Every song hits us with improved lyrical skill and heart-wrenching vocals. Whatever it is she may have in the works, we are so excited to hear it.
