Electronic dance producer Tripp Daly’s essentiality is furnished with fifteen years of expertise and a brew of divergent sonic bearings. He poses a distinctive blend of sound by way of his newly released body of work. The self-described vibe-monger from South Florida released his two-song EP, Distance, via Spanish imprint Sacudan Records [Jorge Herrera, Bagnarello, Vittorio Brena, Rony Chancay] — which is an assemblage of sub-house makings suit for comfortability and a playlist for a night out. From bumper-to-bumper traffic to a rainy Sunday, Distance embodies all the makings of an electronica chef-d’oeuvre.
Influenced and backed by international DJs such as Dutch electronic duo composed of Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan MolijnDash Berlin, Max Vangeli of NoFace Records, and Poland native Michael Chodo, Distance is Daly’s introductory housewarming gift to 2021. The two-song EP donates a fresh, modernistic wave in the electronic dance industry. Daly breathes fresh air into his measures as genuine and austerity marry and illuminate Distance from start to finish.
The title track “Distance” encompasses a cool, calm, and collected persona that houses a colossal bassline and fetching inflection. The three-minute aria remains steady in a downtempo fashion throughout as it warmly welcomes a vocoder-bonded vocal line. The inauguration track envelopes a subtle ambiance as opposed to what’s on the charts while arresting the ears of easygoing listeners and avid party crowds. Three-fourths of the way in, “Distance” presents an audio breakdown proving that Daly has much more to offer.
Akin to “Distance,” “Do It” possesses an analogous groove equipped with a swifter arpeggiated downbeat. A psychedelic bassline excels in this composition, exemplifying that desire for a good time. Filled with pop undertones of the early 2000’s, “Do It” provides a seamless transition for fans of Madonna and Britney Spears into the EDM world. Though short in stature, this two track EP is closing the Distance between the once heavily separated realms of the music industry.
Distance follows Daly’s previous releases “Sippin’,” “My Soul,” “All I Need,” “Back Again,” and more. The culmination of fifteen years has allowed Daly to perfect his artistry.
