Up-and-coming pop/ country artist, Alexandra Kay, has just released her latest single and audio video, “All The Cowboys,” today. In a call to her mother, she vents about feeling like she’s lost every person she’s ever loved, and wonders when and if the right person for her is out there. Her melancholy vocals soar above the lush instrumentation, with passion and honesty in her voice. The song is a reminder to let ourselves feel whatever comes our way. “All The Cowboys” not only showcases Alexandra Kay’s vocals, but it also highlights her refined writing abilities, and her talent to tell a story everyone can relate to.
“It came to me in the middle of the night,” shares Kay on the track. “I woke up thinking about a previous conversation I had with my best friend who’s had awful luck dating. I wrote this down after I said a prayer for her.”
“All The Cowboys” debuted at #1 on the iTunes Country Chart, while landing among the top 5 on the All Genre charts in not only the United States, but also in Australia and Canada. Earlier this week, Alexandra Kay also surpassed over 1 million followers on TikTok, only just a year after her cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” went viral. To honor the country queen, Kay is hosting her Hard Candy Christmas Special along with fellow country newcomer, Thomas Mac, on Friday, December 4th at 5:00pm PT / 8:00pm ET.
Alexandra Kay grew up about 40 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri in Waterloo, IL. She began writing songs at the age of 15 as a way to cope with all the stress and emotion that comes with being a teenager, such as first loves and the journey towards finding herself. Most recently, she was featured on the Netflix music reality series Westside, and joined the Nashville-based TikTok group, The 615 House, as a new member.
