“ily” by Surf Mesa has been remixed by praised DJ/producer ARTY in an international lyric video featuring Emilee. ARTY delivered upbeat energy and progressive house style to the song, which has become an international marvel. In the accompanying official video for the remix, Surf Mesa skateboards at Venice Beach. He wears black and white, overlaid with some color in the cool, feel-good clip.

Surf Mesa says about the “ily (ARTY Remix),”I’m so excited to have ARTY make a rendition of ‘ily’! I look up to ARTY as an artist with a clear vision in making the most organic and energetic EDM. I love his take on this single, bringing electronic elements and life-filled chords. He really killed it and I’m excited to hear this remix in a venue!”

The ‘ily (i love you baby)’ remix was probably one of the most challenging ones for me to finish,” explains ARTY, who regularly appears on DJ Magazine’s annual tally of the Top 100 DJs. “I really like the subtle and soft feeling of the original song, so I wanted to keep the vibe but to take it in an entirely new direction. I tried out over 20 different harmonies until I found the one that felt the best. I’ve always been a big fan of synthwave and this remix felt like the perfect opportunity for this style. I love how it makes me feel.”

Since its release on November 26, “ily (i love you baby)” (ARTY Remix) by Surf Mesa has amassed more than 100 million cumulative global streams. It has topped both the Global Viral 50 and the US Viral 50 on Spotify, appeared consistently on Rolling Stone’s Trending 25 chart, which tracks the fastest rising songs of the week, and can be heard on countless playlists worldwide. “ily” has its own Global Snapchat Lens – a notable feat for a debut artist. The more than 270,000 videos made with the “ily” audio have racked up over 80 million collective views on TikTok. The early press has included Billboard, Rolling Stone, Idolator, Fresh Music Freaks, and The Honey Pop.

Surf Mesa came across Emilee Flood’s popular cover of the song on her TikTok, and remixed it, giving the song a dreamy vibe. “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” – the source of the indelible “I love you, baby” refrain – has proven to be one of the biggest hits of Frankie Valli’s solo career. Released in 1967, the song was written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio.
