Beabadoobee Sorry music videViral star, beabadoobee, has shared her latest single and accompanying video, Sorry. Directed by long-term collaborators bedroom, the track up some hard-hitting emotions. With cinematic visuals and a moody vibe, the song and video make you reminisce like it’s a rainy day in the 00s. The melancholy, string-focused indie sound accentuates the intensity of her lyrics. An apology track in its roots, the song’s style is reminiscent of iconic 2000s influences such as Ashlee Simpson and Vanessa Carlton. The dreamy indie-pop sound paired with her introspective and honest lyrics produces a sort of retro nostalgia. Her unique and exciting sound provokes an intimate nostalgia that seems wise beyond her years.

Speaking on the track and video, Bea explains the song is her way of confessing my mistakes in a friendship and watching someone who I love break down and fade away as a person. It’s the idea of dismissing something because it felt too close to home and a personal reminder to never take for granted what that person could have had.

Sorry is the second single off of her upcoming debut album, Fake It Flowers, due out October 16 via Dirty Hit. The track follows the release of her other recent single and video, Care, a cathartic and nostalgic anthem about rejecting sympathy from those who don’t take the time to truly get to know and understand her, a situation so many of her fans connected with. The track garnered praise from NPR, Teen Vogue, Pitchfork, The Fader, i-D, Uproxx, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, Nylon, Complex, DuJour, and more.

beabadoobee has quickly risen as one of the most buzzworthy artists this year. After going viral with her hit single Coffee and touring with fellow indie-pop artist Clairo, she signed with Dirty Hit.  Along with staring the cover of NME (who labeled her devastatingly cool) and shining on a billboard in Times Square as part of YouTube’s global artist development program Foundry, she started the new year strong with nominations for the BRITs Rising Star Award and the BBC Sound of 2020, as well as a performance at the NME Awards and at The 1975’s O2 Arena shows.

At only 20 years old, beabadoobee is already flocked with a dedicated Gen-Z fan base.  Her unique style of dreamy bedroom pop, her DIY aesthetic, encapsulating voice, and vulnerable and relatable lyricism make her one of her generation’s most exciting artists to watch.  Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Bea Kristi began recording music as beabadoobee back in 2017.  As one of the most consistently streamed artists of the last year, she collected more than 900 million streams (and counting!).

Her 2019 EPs, Space Cadet and Loveworm, received acclaim from both critics and fans alike. Keeping the momentum going, Bea soared with her collaboration with Canadian artist, Powfu, who sampled Coffee for his track, deathbed (coffee for your head). The mashup went viral and became a TikTok smash-hit. The song climbed into the Top 20 chart in 27 countries, and gifted Bea her first RIAA Platinum Certification. Bea has been hailed by Rolling Stone, NPR, Paper, The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, New Yorker, and more, who are all excited to see her continue to develop her artistry. With an already promising discography and over 900 million Spotify streams [and counting], her authentic sound, and even some musical buzz of future collaborations with chart-topping artists, beabadoobee has a promising career ahead of her and we can’t wait to see where her talent takes her.
