Bearings share their exciting new single and accompanying music video, “Sway”. The modern rock track is full of pop-punk nostalgia, and the video feels like you just popped an old tape into the VCR and sat down to watch and jam. Belting, “We take something / We’re always taking something / And turn it into nothing / We turn it into nothing / Sway (You’re swimming in my veins) / Around your room (It’s not the same without you) / To something blue.”

“Sway is a tongue in cheek track about someone who thinks they are way too damn cool,” shares vocalist, Doug Cousins. “The song came about pretty quickly and once we got going with it, we knew it was going to be the first single we wanted everyone…. we wanted something everyone could move to. Something with a raw dose of energy.”

The band also announced their upcoming album, Hello, It’s You, due out November 20 via Pure Noise Records, produced by Courtney Ballard [Good Charlotte, Waterparks]. Hello, It’s You takes listeners on a lyrically driven journey, navigating all of the emotions that swirl around in our new reality. Diving deep into emotions, the album serves as a reminder of our own humanity. The album reassures fans that it’s okay to feel confused and anxious but encourages everyone to embrace the conflict and messiness of life.

The Canadian band has played together since forming in 2014. Doug Cousins, along with guitarists, Ryan Culligan and Ryan Fitz, bassist Collin Hanes, and drummer Mike McKerracher, met at the Music Industry Arts program at Algonquin College. They found they meshed well together – both as friends and as artists – and went on to develop their sonic palette and classic pop-punk vibe. Doug describes their band as being “a little indie, a little pop punk, extremely personal and holding nothing back.” After their hit 2018 album Blue In The Dark [hailed by Alternative Press as one of the year’s best], their mix of energetic feel and irresistible melodies tour invitations from acts like Cold FrontState Champs, and Less Than Jake. A year after, they shared two exciting singles, “So Damn Wrong” and “I Feel It All”.

Speaking on their process, Doug shared, “It’s funny how some songs just come together. A solid change of surroundings helped focus on getting the sounds and words we felt we were right… Some songs happen so naturally it’s together and formed before you really have a chance to think about it, sometimes life can be the same way.”
