Beartooth declares their new album, Below, coming June 25th via Red Bull Records. The band launches the news with their latest single, “The Past Is Dead.” The band shares its music video with a blazing performance to keep spirits high for the record’s release.

“The Past Is Dead” is an anthemic post-hardcore track — balancing themes of inner darkness, and finding peace with the past. It’s evident in lyrics like “All the life drains out, we can’t try making amends, even though I’m trying my best doing all I can.” Singer Caleb Shomo is a vocal powerhouse. He brings his thunderous vocals onto larger-than-life verses rounded out with melodic and catchy choruses. “I can’t accept that the past is dead,” is the main hook that reverberates within, and touches the core of those listening. Beartooth returns with full throttle, heavy, crushing breakdowns.

Beartooth brings the heat on the single’s music video with what is quite literally an explosive performance. The group has undeniable chemistry and synchronicity in their performance, all being passionate about the release. The band brings a pyrotechnical set — with the flames bringing a contrast of representations of darkness in the video. An otherworldly demon takes a haunting presence on the video as the band powers through the track. Shomo shares on the track, “Various versions have been in the bank for about two years now and it really set the tone for the whole album writing process. The video is meant to depict the beginning of the journey to the deepest and darkest parts of my mind, which was the fuel used to make Below.

Below is Beartooth’s fourth studio album — a record where the band dives deep into their inner darkness. They work to pull out sacred, profane, purging turmoil within, and bring all the elements of their inspiration to light. Beartooth strives to advance their sound to a level sought by a generation of bands, a fusion of booming metal riffs and catchy choruses. Shomo explains, “It covers the dark side of dealing with mental strain during the last year. I gave it all I had — musically and lyrically. Is it too dark? Possibly, but it was as honest as I could be about how I felt. I hope everyone is ready to strap in for a wild ride of head banging and rocking.” Below is a distillation of rage, ready with radio-friendly tracks to spread their stone-cold truth and noisy rock chaos to the masses.
