Rock quintet Buckcherry are celebrating the announcement of their forthcoming ninth album, Hellbound — due out June 25 via their new label, Round Hill Records — with the release of the video for “So Hott.” For those who claim the rock genre is dying, Buckcherry is reminding them of how wrong they are.

The track kicks off with a sturdy guitar, swiftly followed by a few confident taps of the drum before it explodes into a groovy guitar-driven wonderland. Frontman Josh Todd confronts a beautiful woman who has been stealing all his attention, letting her know he’s dug up all the facts about her and he enjoys how much she’s changed from the obedient girl she was when she lived with her parents. Now, she’s on her own, doing what she wants and carries a flair with her. She’s glowed up so much that Todd regrets not cherishing her while he had her. With the bridge comes a fiery guitar solo that’s just as sublime as the woman Todd is dreaming of. The fact that she knows just how gorgeous is almost makes him want her more, though he knows in the back of his mind he’ll most likely never get that second chance.

The video opens with a girl lying on her bed, scrolling through her Instagram feed. The band, meanwhile, is found elsewhere about to sing about her. Todd whips his head every which way as he gathers up the strength and energy to give the performance of his life. Unimpressed with her Instagram following, the girl walks to her closet and looks to give herself a complete makeover. She takes off her glasses, applies lipstick and puts on a sensual outfit before taking photos of herself and her new look. She changes outfits and lies on her bed, hair splayed all across her sheets, and takes even sexier photos. Before she knows it, she’s receiving handfuls of likes and starts racking up hundreds of thousands of followers. She finally leaves her house and starts walking down the street, only to find gobs of guys drooling just at the sight of her. They start to follow her, and she basks in the attention, her smile never faltering in the slightest.

Luckily, pre-orders for Hellbound are already underway, and they include bundle options that feature new merch and limited vinyl, so get those while supplies last. Buckcherry is also set to hit the road at the beginning of June, pandemic restrictions pending, after canceling over 100 shows last year, so grab a ticket and get ready to have the time of your love with the band that’ll never die.
