Alternative band Charming Liars are excited to release their latest video for their new song “Disco Elvis”. The song has roots in alternative rock with elements of 80s synth and uplifting high notes. In the fun new visuals, fans can catch vocalist, Kiliyan Maguire, donning the white suit – becoming the King himself. He sings as he goes around his home doing household chores – something we’ve all probably been doing ourselves during quarantine and beyond!
Maguire shares, “I’ve always been a very big fan of Elvis but honestly what I admire most about him is that he can do almost anything in his jump suit and look amazing doing it. So with that in mind we figured we’d put that white and gold suit to the test and tackle everyday chores…..as Elvis.” “Disco Elvis” is the latest in the band’s recent series of new singles, including “Favorite Show,” “Golden State,” “Blame,” “Flames,” and “IMPACT.”
Charming Liars formed in when guitarist, Karnig Manoukian, and bassist, Mike Kruger, were still in their teens in London’s West End. Both musicians began developing their style, influenced by homes with a wide range of eclectic musical tastes. The duo wrote and played together in several bands, as well as in several tours up and down the U.K.
They made the move to Los Angeles in 2013, encouraged by a social media message from songwriter and producer John Feldmann [Panic! at the Disco, Plain White T’s, 5 Seconds of Summer, Blink-182]. Soon after, they connected with now vocalist, Kiliyan Maguire, through a mutual friend while he was attending The Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Their newfound friendship leads to some songwriting and then recording sessions, where the 3 musicians realized that they had a natural musical chemistry that flowed together perfectly.
2019 brought a hell of a ride for the trio, who released their debut album, Thought, Flesh and Bone, a follow-up acoustic EP, Bare Bones, and then finished the year off strong with a live collection titled Live 2019. In addition, they also headlined shows on the West Coast, toured Europe with The Faim, and crossed the US to support for Angels & Airwaves. Recently, the band returned to Europe with Palaye Royale, who they will be supporting on The Bastards World Tour.
