Rising alt-rock band, Crooked Teeth, have just shared their new music video for their latest single, “Gone Forever”. The animated video features art by Nicole Mauck and boasts trippy electronic visuals and blue hues. Their alt-rock emo sound accentuates their emotional lyrics, “I don’t really know how to find the words to say / And I don’t really know now if I should even stay / Cause every time I call now it all just ends the same / I miss the way your voice sounds, I miss it every day.”
Frontman, Tyson Evans, shares, “I wrote this song in the summer of 2019 after spending months on tour. I was settling into my first seemingly stable relationship in years however every high point was met with lows by way of distance and the push and pull of chasing childhood dreams in the back of a van on tour. Fast forward a year later and I’m learning to be happy alone in the midst of a global pandemic. Listening back on this song feels like a time machine to a feeling that I don’t feel as familiar with all the madness outside my window. This song serves as a memory of a time when escapism felt tangible and codependency plagued my personal growth.”
The California band describes their sound as “Bedroom pop for emo kids.” Their exciting sound with their nostalgic vibes has created an artist that you’ll definitely want to pay attention to. They describe their musical influences as artists like Jimmy Eat World, Paramore, Deftones, Green Day, Slipknot, Tom Petty, The Maine, The Cure, Blink-182, and Third Eye Blind.
Their talent has led to praise from KROQ radio and Earmilk. Their single “Beg” recently surpassed 500k streams. Earmilk described the track as, “the defining decision we’ve all had to make…between leaving the bar early OR staying out till all hours of the night and succumbing to a hellish hangover the next morning. It’s a true headbanger and millennial emo-anthem of 2019.”
