Dead Girls Academy has released the official music video for their single This Is War.”  The fight-ready anthem is a tale of survival and perseverance in the madness of our reality. Through the smoke and shadows, they sing All of our expectations burn down the purpose of who we used to be/ time can’t erase these feelings curing this curse won’t ever set you free/ This is War.”  The heavy rock track has risen on the Billboard Rock Indicator and Foundations Charts and has received airplay across radio stations throughout the nation.

The beautiful, ominous feeling illuminates throughout the video, while heavy guitar riffs pump through the speakers. Their aesthetic of being a punchy, gothic rock ‘n roll band radiates as colorful strobes cascade across the members and featured video guests. From the mind of Scott Hansen [director], the approach to the video feels reminiscent of those featuring 80s glam metal acts that heavily focused on the band’s performance with a storyline simply being an underlining element.

“In the wake of this madness, surrounded by uncertainty, the world needs hope. We need to preserve and survive. We need to fight, this is war,”  says frontman Michael Orlando. The track was mastered by Andy Vandette [David Bowie, Rush] and mixed by Malcolm Springer [Matchbox 20, Fear Factory]. The song, which comes from the band’s forthcoming sophomore album Doves In Glass Houses, was recorded as a gift for fans who’d been so patient waiting for new music. The album is set to be released later this year, via Mission Two Entertainment, who recently signed the group.

In the middle of this pandemic, I got the most amazing phone call. The first thing I heard was ‘The world needs rock ‘n’ roll now more than ever!’ I could not agree more, and that voice was (Mission Two Entertainment founder) Tony Brummel. It had been a long time since we talked and we’ve been on the same wavelength about the state of music since we first met. Tony brought the world some of my favorite bands like Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, and Hatebreed. I knew I needed to follow my gut and sign with his new label Mission Two Entertainment!”

Dead Girls Academy released their debut album, Alchemy, back in 2018. The album delivered two Billboard Top 40 placements and two spots on the charts for Top 30 at Active Rock Radio with hit tracks I’ll Find A Way”  and No Way Out.”  Since then, the band has spent two years on tour with John 5, Falling In Reverse, Adelita’s Way, Badflower and has performed in numerous festivals including Warped Tour, Epicenter, Inkcarceration, and Welcome To Rockville.
