Des Rocs releases the video for “Pieces” — one of the 5 tracks on his latest EP, This Is Our Life. The Rockstar visualizes the track in a storytelling and creative matter.
“Pieces” is a jam-packed track — Des Rocs’ riffs and emotional vocals compliment layers of fuzzy guitars and futuristic elements. The song opens with an eerie tone in Des’ voice as he sings the opening lines. And the occasional pauses in the track add a jaunty feel to it at first before going into full swing. “Pieces” is overflowing with memorable hooks, addictive melodies and a driving pulse in the static bassline, making the song into its own.
The track is a personal message, but one most people can relate to. Des says, “‘Pieces’ is about everything we carry inside us throughout life. Those moments and memories that make up who we are, all the little things that define is – the good, the bad and the ugly. ‘Pieces’ means a hell of a lot to me and writing it helped me throughout a period of time when I was steeped in some heavy self-reflection.”
The music video was directed in Atlanta by production studio, Rock and Egg. Des is the focus of the track, and his emotive delivery of the song is convincing. The video is futuristic and very captivating. The intro is beautifully captivating. It opens with a vivid shot of Des lucidly falling through the air with a car coming down on him. Other twists of futuristic effects flaunt the level of creativity Des has. The studio praises his work, “He puts a lot of thought into the overall vision, and is a bit of a cinephile, so the initial creative discussion is always really wild. ‘Pieces’ ended up having that real cinematic quality that conveys the emotional layers woven into the track.”
