George Perris I Have A Dream

Acclaimed Greek vocalist George Perris just released his inimitable spin on the ABBA smash “I Have A Dream.” Featuring footage from his upcoming third PBS concert special “George Perris: A Sunset in Greece” premiering December 15th, “I Have A Dream” serves as the perfect introduction to the unfettered imagination that propels Perris’s forthcoming 2022 album. As the follow-up to 2019’s Who I’m Meant To Be [his second English-language offering], the forthcoming collection marks the first international album Perris has ever recorded in Greece.

Co-producing alongside composer/arranger/pianist Alexander LivitsanosPerris assembled a lineup of prestigious Greek musicians for his 2022 album. On this new album, Perris aims to take his audience on a journey to open-heartedness and the spirit of his homeland, Greece, giving fans an exquisite glimpse into the songs that have shaped him into a global phenomenon and the most widely renowned Greek singer of his generation.

“I Have A Dream” by George Perris begins with a panoramic of the Temple of Aphaea at dusk, switching to show Perris in a fancy white suit on a stage backed up by an entire orchestra. Perris’s sultry voice begins with the lyrics “I have a dream.” As Perris continues to sing, the camera gives several bird’s-eye-view shots of the temple as well as Perris’s entire setup. Perris’s singing is enchanting – a perfect fit for the beautiful landscape around him. As he sings “I believe in angels,” you will find yourself agreeing with his statement as Perris looks like an angel himself on stage. As the song continues, we get to see the use of traditional Greek instruments like the bouzouki and qanun, which provide an original sound to the cover. We then get to see shots of the beautiful ocean and a coastal city that we can only assume is a part of Greece. There are also shots of Perris in the countryside surrounded by lush greenery and shots of Perris walking through the streets of the city, a bright blue sky overhead. As the song concludes, the camera continues to switch between these gorgeous shots of Greece and Perris performing at the temple.

George Perris: A Sunset in Greece will feature captivating live performances from the singer filmed at the 2,500-year-old Temple of Aphaea, making Perris the first artist in history to perform at the historic landmark. To achieve the groundbreaking feat, Perris developed the show in partnership with the Greek National Tourism Organization. Both the new PBS special and album are sponsored by the Horatio Alger Association, a nonprofit educational organization that grants scholarships to students facing adversity. George Perris: A Sunset in Greece is the follow-up to Perris’s two previous PBS specials – George Perris: Live from Jazz at Lincoln Center and George Perris: Live From The Acropolis – which have amassed over 160 million total viewers worldwide.
