WATCH: I Prevail Release An Emotional Acoustic Of “Every Time You Leave” ft. Delaney Jane

I Prevail Every Time You Leave Acoustic

i prevail every time you leave delaney janeIt’s been over a year since the release of I Prevail’s sophomore album, Trauma – and the guys just keep making us fall more in love with the record. In May, I Prevail unleashed their music video for DOA  featuring an opening verse from acclaimed rapper and activist, Joyner Lucas. The video tackled the controversial topics of gun violence, substance abuse, sex trafficking, and of course, police brutality. Being released in both a traditional video and a 360 VR experience, the video has garnered over 2.5 million YouTube views [collectively]. On Friday, I Prevail continued to blow fans away with an acoustic rendition of their electric ballad, Every Time You Leave  featuring Delaney Jane. Her pop fueled voice creates a heavenly balance against clean vocalist, Brian Burkheiser – making this one of I Prevail’s most contemporary releases.

The acoustic version came as a bit of a surprise to fans. The same day reveal came from Burkheiser’s Twitter account simply saying, Dropping an acoustic version of ‘Every Time You Leave’ with @iamdelaneyjane today! Will be up on the @iprevailbandYouTube at noon eastern and with one tweet, fans lost their minds in anticipation. The video wastes no time and jumps immediately into the soothing vocals of Brian as he belts out the first verse and chorus before switching to a blue-hued room with just a standing mic anxiously awaiting Delaney’s arrival. Delaney’s voice offers a rustic open to her verse before her tune changes to a silky finish. With a split-screen, the two starred vocalists battle in perfect harmony sending chills up your spine. The video ends with a final stroke on the guitar as Brian punches across the screen in a victory while Delaney offers a sweet kiss goodbye – a dazzling representation of their equally unique and brilliant talents coming together like two pieces of the same puzzle.

While I Prevail are most known for their heavy guitar riffs with a blasting bass that’s cooed over by both clean and harsh vocals, their approach to Trauma was vastly different – pulling in elements from a mix of genres. Trauma seamlessly blends hardcore, metal, punk, pop, and electronic throughout the album – constantly keeping fans engaged and questions what could possibly come next. The 2019 release warranted two GRAMMY nominations in the categories Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance [for their single, Bow Down]. I Prevail may still be riding the wave of their Trauma release, but it’s a damn good wave to rip on. While fans anxiously await their next move, jam out to Every Time You Leave (Acoustic)  featuring Delaney Jane.
