Newcomer, Jordan Suaste has recently premiered the official video for his debut single, “Body”. The chilling, intensifying track comes to life in the pristine and stark music video, directed by Anastasia Lebedeva Delmark. The visuals follow Suaste in a pale white gallery, where he gazes upon four women on pedestals. A placard accompanies each, with captions of hurtful comments, inspired by experiences shared by Suaste’s fans such as “They say I’m too fat. They say I’m too thin. ‘You’ll never be good enough.’” Towards the end of the video, the figures come to life, ripping off their binding fabric and tape, and revel in their freedom alongside Suaste.

The 19-year-old Salt Lake City native has been making waves as a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. Suaste has been writing songs since he was five years old. At 16 he decided to pursue music full time and dropped out of school to focus on his craft. Soon after, he began posting original songs on Instagram.

Suaste is DIY all around, producing the powerful tracks himself and achieving a sound mature beyond his years with messages heavy with depth and emotion. As he continued to perfect his skills and further his songwriting abilities, Suaste collaborated with musician/pianist Jake Ostler and self-taught producer Jaxon Garrick. The final product was his hit single “Hookup Culture” – an acoustic pop ballad about grappling with society’s toxic modern dating reality.

Two weeks later, Suaste followed with “Body”, as well as an acoustic version of the song where he is accompanied by a piano showcasing his powerful vocals. “’Body’ is one of the most honest songs I’ve ever written,” he shares. “It’s about overcoming the idea that no one will ever love me if I don’t look perfect and recognizing that we’re all so much more than our bodies. For a lot of people, it’s become an anthem of surviving sexual abuse, and I’m so grateful that it’s resonated with them in such a powerful way.”

Combined global streams of “Body” have now surpassed 20 million. The track has appeared on Spotify’s Viral 50 charts in 22 countries, reaching #3 in the U.S. and #8 on the Global Viral 50 chart, as well as being featured on numerous playlists including Spotify’s Pop Rising and Apple Music’s New in Pop. After posting the song on TikTok, he’s already nearing 12 million views. The track has gained him over 50,000 YouTube subscribers in just over a month and pushed him to surpass 500K TikTok followers. Fans fell in love with his strong and honest songs, and have already proven to be a devoted fanbase.

Jordan Suaste is currently continuing to work on new music and hopes to continue his goal of embracing vulnerability and finding self-worth. He wants to inspire others to own their sensitivity, and fully embrace the beauty in being unapologetically yourself.
