WATCH: KATZÙ OSO Releases Music Video For Their First All Spanish Single “Secuestro Al Corazón”

Southern California native and Latinx bedroom pop singer, Katzù Oso recently released a new song with accompanying animated music video for, “Secuestro Al Corazón” – translated to, “Kidnapping to the Heart”. Edgar Fernandez directs and animates the music video for this all Spanish track – a first for Oso. The groovy song is intended to land on his second E.P. Colour – Katzù Oso’s sophomore project aimed for a July release via Cosmica Artists.

Surprisingly enough, “Secuestro Al Corazón” was inspired by Netflix’s hit show, Narcos. I was hooked on Narcos and the idea of making a song that captured the intensity of what the show portrayed which is why the title just seemed fitting”, says Oso, “’Secuestro’ is heard and seen throughout the series so I wanted to capture the emotion of ‘kidnapping’ someone’s heart just as the title says.” With lyrics like, “Se muy bien que estamos de prisa, Y no me dejes escapar,” which translates to, “I know very well that we are in a hurry, And don’t let me escape” – Katzú’s storyline becomes all the more obvious. The music video features a girl going to Oso’s meet and greet, kidnapping him, running away together and falling in love – a twisted, modern day love story that emulates another popular Netflix play, 365 Dni.

The song’s bouncy production, lush keys, dreamy synths, and guitar twangs “kidnaps” the listener’s ears. His influences include the likes of, Tame Impala and HOMESHAKE – making it a point to seamlessly blend the signature musical stylings of LA and NY.
