Wisconsin DIY musician KennyHoopla [Kenneth La’Ron] is known for providing alternative rock and pop influences in his music. Still riding the high off his May EP release, How will I rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?// – KennyHoopla recently teamed up with Vevo DSCVR to create an at-home live version of the title track.

KennyHoopla gave a passionate and thought out solo performance accompanied by his electric guitar – “She’s gonna cut my head off, but I don’t care, I don’t care.”  Intensity and angst echo throughout the black and white live performance – as a shock to many though, Kenny revealed in an interview with AltPress, “I played guitar when I had never played guitar before.”

The song serves as a double meaning for drug usage while comparing it to a girl who’s going to end up being the death of Hoopla if they keep seeing each other – but love and drugs make you do crazy things sometimes. While its original music video for the song came out on February 4th of this year, it’s relevancy is still clear. With highlights sporadic cinematography with red, white, or no lighting, it features Hoopla in a suit getting tossed around like he’s in the middle of a mosh pit. In a statement with Clashmusic.com Hoopla talks about his EP, This EP is an introduction to the world of Kennyhoopla, sonically and metaphorically. I’d say it’s really a couple of loose memories being processed for the first time into a playlist.”

This is one of two songs for him that have gotten past 3 million streams on Spotify, with the other being his 2019 dreamy pop single, “Lost Cause//”.
