From the city of angels comes our new saving grace – Lauren Sanderson and her new music video for, “Frustrated”. “Frustrated” is the newest single in the wake of Sanderson’s debut album, Midwest Kids Can Make It Big, that dropped earlier this year. Originally from Indiana, this rising star, is the definition of a DIY mogul. From recording her music in her bedroom closet to booking and managing her touring career to getting the chance to open for FINNEAS during his tour last fall – Lauren Sanderson keeps pushing leaps and bounds of what anyone could have expected from this passionate songstress.
The music video for “Frustrated” plays out like a modern-day Bonnie and Bonnie [Bonnie and Clyde] indie film. The track is the love story that no one wants to admit is all too real for so many. Relationships aren’t are gumdrops and roses – people have wicked pasts created by wicked people. Growth is always the end goal for partners – but when the other half realizes that change and evolving past toxic traits isn’t an overnight concept, frustration ensues for both parties in different ways. “That I don’t know how to trust and I don’t wanna admit it/Cause if I talk about it, how am I supposed to forget it?/Anxiety is a bitch and I don’t wanna be in it” – so many have anxiety and history of getting over bad partners, but no one wants to talk about the lasting affects too many of those ‘wrong people’ left behind. It’s one thing to have those toxic traits – it’s another to know you have them and hate them just as much as your partner because you’re trying to change but it’s hard. “I know that you’re frustrated/I promise I frustrate me too…I’m sorry you’re frustrated” – the lyrics read like an apology that ends in a “but” laced in hope to make things better.
From a Midwest DIY artist to building a loyal fan base to finally having a team backing her – Lauren Sanderson is destined to reach great heights in her music career. Although she was forced to postpone her Spring tour celebrating her debut album to next year – that’s not stopping this bombshell from making necessary waves in this industry.
