Lauren Sanderson hangs around town in her latest single’s music video for, “Hi.” Her talent for songwriting shines through on this laid-back and nostalgic track, as she pens a song about letting go. The independent artist brings on her star-power with “Hi.”
“Hi.” has an R&B beat with a touch of indie-style songwriting, produced by Keith Varon [Machine Gun Kelly, The Aces]. It carries a truthful story full of emotions about a breakup and its lingering feelings. “Although the song is very emotional, I wanted the video to feel completely freeing like you’ve finally come to accept the heartbreak,” Lauren shares. “You think Everything means nothing then we die. I never wanna know what that’s like, cause everything means everything to me. But you don’t feel a thing, how could that be?” is one of the song’s best lines, showing Sanderson’s true writing style. Her voice is calming and sincere which is reflective of her work ethic when it comes to her music.
The music video is a nostalgic and cinematic depiction of Sanderson’s purest self. “The video was filmed with camcorders and random locations like on a boat and a carousel that made me feel free. Emotions during a breakup can be so hard to process and this is what it feels like to finally let go and be at peace with what was meant to be,” Lauren shares.
