Italian actor and model, Michele Morrone, debuted his musical career earlier this year and now goes viral in everything he touches. Just a year and a half ago, Morrone was ready to leave the world of acting behind. After entering a state of depression following the divorce from his wife and no money to his name, he took up work as a gardener in a remote village. Yet destiny had greater plans for this young talent – a simple phone call and an out of the blue offer, Michele Morrone’s life would be forever changed.
Polish director, Barbara Białowąs, offered Michele lead role in her upcoming Netflix movie, 365 DNI [Days] which he originally declined. Persistent in her ways she called Michele and offered a flight to meet for the movie – he had two options, either he takes a free flight to meet this director and chat about the movie or he can go back to trimming trees in the park. The next morning Michele made the decision to fake a stomach bug and fly out for the audition that would be the catalyst for his new life.
The now infamous Netflix film, 365 DNI [Days] premiered originally in Poland and the UK before finally making its debut to the US during the peak of the country’s pandemic lockdown. With equal amounts of praise and criticism – 365 DNI became the most talked-about film in quarantine. Michele plays an Italian gangster, Massimo, who becomes completely enthralled by a woman [played by Anna-Maria Sieklucka] he’s only ever seen once. In an effort to make her his, Massimo kidnaps her and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him. Is the dialogue corny as times? Yes. Is the plot a little Stockholmy? Sure. Is this one of the best erotic films to be released in this decade? Definitely.
Once people got past the scandalous plot and steamy sex scenes, the soundtrack was finally the focus. In addition to starring in the movie, Michele Morrone shared a song he had written with the director and was immediately told it would be the film’s leading single. In total, Michele has four of his songs featured on the official soundtrack – “Hard For Me”, “Dark Room”, “Watch Me Burn”, and “Feel It”. Yet “Hard For Me” sets the stage in this blissfully tantalizing film. On Friday, Michele premiered the official music video for the movie’s leading single and in just 5 short days has already garnered over 6.6 million views on YouTube.
While the official music video doesn’t feature his gorgeous 365 DNI co-star, it does tell the tale of a relationship between Michele and another blonde bombshell. In a more realistic setting, the video highlights the best and worst parts of a relationship – the morning giggles while cradled in each other’s arms, the silly times laced with sexual tension, the fighting, and ultimately, facing the end of it all. While not as risqué as the scenes set for Netflix, the video establishes a wide range of emotions that constantly flows alongside love.
With the sequel to 365 DNI in the cards and the talent that is Michele Morrone – it’s safe to say that he will more than likely be supplying more to yet another soundtrack.
