Austin, TX powerhouse duo, MISSIO, have just released a double feature – so that means double the good music for fans! Along with the news of their new album, Can You Feel The Sun, MISSIO has released a double-single featuring the title-track and cathartic album opener, “Don’t Forget To Open Your Eyes”. Both videos take place in a futuristic forest cloaked in, with the first in cool hues and the second in a warmer glow.

“Don’t Forget To Open your Eyes” is a true slow burn, with a calming soundscape and intimate lyrics like, “Don’t forget to open your eyes / Don’t forget that there’s a sunrise / Life will feel like love and death keep adding up their tabs / As if, when we die the universe will put it up for grab / It’s inevitable, wanting nothing to exist / There’s a moment it gets better and it’s worth taking the risk.” “Can You Feel The Sun” brings a more intense and hopeful mood, being more vocally driven. Guided by a steady beat and a glittering soundscape, the track is mysterious and pulls you in. Both music videos follow MISSIO’s previously released album tracks “Hoodie Up” and “Wolves”, which reached #1 on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation within three weeks of its release.

As the duo nears 1 billion streams worldwide, they have announced their new studio full-length album, Can You Feel The Sun, which is set for release on October 23rd via 2B Recordings/BMG. The 10-song album was recorded at Austin’s Matchbox Studios and produced by the band alongside longtime collaborator and studio owner Dwight A. Baker [Brandi Carlile, Bea Miller, Bob Schneider], and features guest appearances from hip-hop icons Paul Wall and Esoteric of Czarface.

“We started talking with Dwight last summer about recording new music even though our second album had just released,” says MISSIOs Matthew Brue. “I felt inspired after coming back from our first European shows in some of the most beautiful cities in the world and seeing our music translate across the ocean, which was incredibly surreal.” Multi-instrumentalist and engineer David Butler adds, “The reason we create and release music is because we love the process of making it all. Being able to write songs for ourselves has to be its own reward even though we’re hoping we can get out on the road and play music for people again soon. Until then we’re hoping, through our music and lyrics, to encourage people to ask questions and to open their minds.”

After their 2017 debut album Loner, the duo has seen huge success. Their breakout single “Middle Fingers” pushed them to the Top 10 Alternative charts and got them to their Late Night TV debut on CONAN. Since then, they have performed at major festivals including LollapaloozaAustin City LimitsFireflyHangoutBottle Rock, and Voodoo Fest. With their 2019 sophomore album The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man, the band followed with U.S. headline touring and support slots with the likes of MUSE, 30 Seconds to Mars, YUNGBLUD, and K. Flay.

MISSIO has found a large, loyal, and growing fanbase that called themselves the MISSIO Mafia. These fans helped the band land four #1 singles on Alt Nation while helping to sell out their first headline show in the UK last summer.
