Tattooed and talented songstress, Morgan Wade shares the music video for her song, “Wilder Days.” Wade recently shared her debut album, Reckless. A collection of confessional songs, including opening track “Wilder Days.”
“Wilder Days” beautifully set the stage for Reckless, it’s rightful to have a music video that portrays Wade in an artistic light. She is a lover, a singer, a guitarist, more importantly a songwriter with a whole lot of stories to tell. The music video shows this all-American talent bearing her soul through this song, “You said you hate the smell of cigarette smoke. You only use to smoke when you drank. When you lived in Chicago. Unsure where the wind blows, I wish I had known you in your wilder days.”
Morgan Wade’s gritty pop-country-tinged voice is contrasted by her portrayal of her buttoned-up alter ego. She strolls into a bar with fellow artist Josh Jakub, and endures a painfully ordinary date at a local Virginia cocktail bar, Rosemary. She is also seen with the same date having a ball in Nashville, playing pool and dancing at the famed Santa’s Pub, eluding to the relationships potential had the couple met earlier.
The Americana songstress recently shared her debut album, Reckless. The release garnered the attention of outlets like Rolling Stone, USA Today and Americana Highways. She worked with producers Paul Ebersold and Sadler Vaden to create an authentic and personally-driven record. Reckless earned Wade her first appearance on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, landed spots in over 30 prominent playlists, including the cover of Spotify’s coveted Indigo Playlist and Apple Music’s Country Risers of the Week.
Morgan Wade is a Virginia-native songwriter. Citing her early interest in music from joining bluegrass jam sessions alongside her grandparents. At 19 years old, she performed at an open mic in Floyd, Virginia, marking the start of her music career. Later on she would tour with her band the Stepbrothers, and generating a grassroots following. For fans of Kat Hasty, Jacob Isbell and Donna Missal, Morgan Wade is making a place for herself in the country-rock community. This weekend, Wade looks forward to performing “Wilder Days” on CBS This Morning: Saturday along with songs “Don’t Cry” and “Last Cigarette.”
