This past Friday, alternative rock collective, Movements released the official music video for their latest single, “Don’t Give Up Your Ghost”. The single comes off their upcoming record, No Good Left To Give – scheduled to drop September 18th. With quarantine putting a damper on some of Movements‘ plans for 2020, the guys have been doing what they can to keep their spirits high as they gear up for this monumental release.

Riding the high of the success of their debut full-length album, Feel Something, it was announced last year that Movements would join this summer’s lineup of Sad Summer Fest, but due do the pandemic the festival has been postponed until the summer of 2021. It addition to being on the postponed Sad Summer Fest bill, their own headlining tour that was set to kick off in April had to be postponed indefinitely. Wrestling with disappointing fans, Movements revealed some light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Earlier this month the guys joined forces in their own self-isolation hideaways to release an acoustic version of their song, “Submerge”. Wanting to not only put good out there but to do good, Movements made the track available for purchase via their Bandcamp with 100% of their net proceeds benefiting The Loveland Foundation – a non-profit organization that provides free therapy and mental health services for women of color. With the release of a reimagined track, Movements made a promise that they would fulfill this past Friday – “PS – We know you’re waiting on new music. It’s coming soon, don’t worry. Enjoy this as a last special send off for Feel Something in the meantime.”

“Don’t Give Up On Your Ghost”  becomes the leading single off their sophomore release, No Good Left To Give. The powerful, animated music video comes from the creative minds of – Ben Kadie [director/lead background artist], Eric Bradford [lead character animator], Daichi Sakane, [background artist] and Marina Fueta, [character designer], with additional character animation from, Alejandro Segura. The video follows a young boy as he travels through a city stalked by a bird-like creature. Desperate for help, he attempts to call Movements but to no avail. Realizing the urgency of the boy’s needs, the band springs into action, flying down a busy highway and just narrowly missing a train. When they arrive at the boy’s location though, they are faced with creatures of their own to tackle – but the delay proves to be detrimental as our young lead is whisked away by the mysterious creature of flight, leaving Movements alone on the rooftop. With this seemingly being the first installment of many to come, fans are left with far more questions than answers.

No Good Left To Give is set to drop September 18 of this year – nearly 3 years since the release of their debut full-length album, Feel Something. When this overdue announcement finally graced fans timelines it was met with gratitude from the band, “We appreciate you all for sticking with us and waiting it out. We have lots more coming soon, so keep an eye out!” No Good Left To Give is currently available for pre-order – but it seems these guys do in fact still have just a little bit of good left to give. Movements announced that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Solutions Project – a charity that provides funding for organizations in the climate crisis sector, with an emphasis on frontline leadership by POC and Women.‬

Check out the video and do some good in the world – we only have one life to get it right.
