Alternative rock newcomers Never Loved have released their newest single and video, “Sunshine”. The track is shadowy and visceral yet booming and anthemic, the track is a reflection on darker times. Fresh yet nostalgic, the track continues to set the scene for their growing discography. The music video features the band playing in dark scenes, with bursts of color shooting through.
Speaking on the track, vocalist Camm Knopp explains, “‘Sunshine’ is about wanting change and growth. I wrote this song during a time when I felt stuck in the same cycles and was surrounded by people who weren’t good for me. For a while I wasn’t even aware of that and the idea of being where I wanted to be didn’t feel possible. Eventually I reached a point where I felt like I had the choice to either create the change I wanted or remain where I was at. I used to be afraid of change, but now I trust it’s always for the best.”
Never Loved hails from the shores of South Florida. The band signed with Equal Vision Records in 2018 after meeting one another through the local music scene and forming the band. They announced their signing with their debut single “Dead Inside”, and went on to be named one of Billboard’s Artists to Watch: 17 Alternative & Indie Breakouts For 2019, in addition to being featured on Alternative Press, Hot Topic, Substream Magazine, and more. They followed with hit singles “Where Do I Go From Here?”, “Down”, and “Over It”, which was co-written by Nick Wheeler (All-American Rejects).
The band’s debut self-titled EP Never Loved, which was produced by multi-platinum producer Matt Squire, is out now. Known for their captivating choruses and loud, gritty guitars, they’re guaranteed to ignite a spark to your inner adolescence.
