Parisian band, Pærish, recently shared their new video for their latest song, “Archives”. The track highlights their rich rock sounds, with layers of pop punk influence serving as a guiding force underneath. With elements of emo on the track, “Archives” is a nostalgic compilation of strong vocals and powerful instrumentals. The video features footage from producer, Will Yip’s recording studio in Philadelphia, where the album was recorded and produced.
“The second I heard Pærish, I knew it was going to be a home run if we worked together,” says Will Yip. “Getting to collaborate with them was an incredible experience. Their passion in their craft was infectious. They deserve to be huge. Honest, real, but massive songs.”
The band recently announced their signing to SideOneDummy Records this summer, an exciting next step towards the recognition they deserve. They also released their new music video for “Fixed It All”, a heavier, shoegaze based track that touched on emotional experiences of losing a friend.
Pærish was formed when its members met at film school in Paris. The quartet chose their name based on the awkward, skinny character Alan Parrish in the original Jumanji (starring Robin Williams – a heavy influence of theirs). They found that their joint passion in life was music. Eventually, the band members began to focus on writing songs instead of scripts, and turn their attention to performing on concert stages rather than continuing to work on movie sets. Pærish’s love and appreciation for film can be found in their song titles and within their lyrics. It’s specifically this joint love of film and music that is so unique but familiar, and truly resonates with listeners. Pærish songs are their own soundtracks to love, loss, growing up, and the band trying to make sense of the world around them.
Pærish has supported bands in Europe like Silversun Pickups and Movements. They also opened for Sum 41 during their European arena tour.
