Rising pop-rock four-piece Saint Blonde has released their new song and music video for “Morningside”. The fresh yet nostalgic indie track is sharp, fun, and exciting. Vocalist Hunter Finish speaks on the track, sharing, “The song itself is sort of an ode to the people who refuse to let time dictate what they want to be, or who they want to be. The late starters, the pivoters, folks who got tired of being afraid of what their idea of love or career looked like. As we get older, it seems like more and more peers feel the pressure of traditional lifestyles or careers.”

Speaking further on the track, Hunter continued, “We tend to say that ‘Morningside’ feels ‘a little more band-y’ to us, more rock-influenced than some of the stuff we’ve put out. When writing I think we just wanted to make a song that was really fun to play live.”

“Morningside” follows their previous singles “Americana” and “Love Me Instead”.  The song was originally tracked and written with a bundle of songs the band worked on in 2019 with Sam Westhoff at Colony House Recording.

Formed in Denton, Texas in 2018, the group made their debut in the fall of that year with their first single, “Shy.” Saint Blonde finds inspiration from a wide range of sounds, melding sincere indie pop flavors with the emotive, synth-laden sound of yesteryear. The band discusses their influences and idols, sharing “We usually look backward in time for a lot of our inspiration… If we had to list out a couple that really get us goin it would be stuff like The Cure, Phil Collins, any 1960s Surf, The Strokes, 80s post punk / goth, lots of eclectic influences that we hope come together in a cohesive way.”

Saint Blonde finds their balance in the simple joy of being longtime friends and collaborators, who’s styles all push together perfectly.
