California rapper Snow Tha Product has released her latest single, “Child Support,” with an accompanying video. The track sees Snow with her most fiery, infectious and vicious delivery yet.
The track starts with a phone call between Snow and her baby daddy, who is unable to take their kid for the weekend, even though he hasn’t made time to see them in over half a year. Frustrated, she starts going off, exposing him for going around and doing whatever he wants while she stays at home with the baby and gets no free time. Bass boosted synths accent her frustration as she mocks him for being a liar, questioning how he’ll come through with payments and being a good father figure when he hasn’t even tried to do any of that. The track ends with Snow beaming with confidence, letting her ex know they better keep their mouth shut if they ever see her out with someone new — because she’s with a new and improved father for her baby.
The video opens with a pregnant Snow sitting in her multi-colored room, annoyed before it glimpses into the conversation between Snow and her ex. She starts yelling right into the speaker, and the scene transitions into flashbacks of her yelling at him while he drinks and relaxes, not contributing at all to taking care of the baby. He takes out the couple dollars he has left to offer, but it’s not enough, and she starts yelling even harder. The video flips back and forth between her getting out all of her aggravation toward her ex and her ex trying to make amends. At the end, when she tells her baby daddy she’s moved on, she walks away while they stand there, jaw completely dropped.
The video was made with Daddie Juju, who she’s currently engaged to and who actively participates in Snow’s vlog channel, everydaydays. The last three minutes of the video are hilarious bloopers of the two, who play all the parts in the video. Even though the song tackles the serious problem of parents not doing their part, the bloopers show how even tracks with painstakingly real subject matter can be fun to create.
This single is the follow-up to “SHUTTUP” and her 2020 project, VALEMADRE. Snow has been a mainstay in rap since her 2011 debut album, Unorthodox, and hasn’t faltered in the slightest. Wherever Snow goes from here, we all know it’ll be a worthwhile venture to tune into.
