The legendary Snow Tha Product has released yet another hard-hitting single Tuesday morning. “On My Shit (Freestyle)” is the latest from the brilliant mind of this Latina rapper – creating the beat, song, and video all from her living room.
For those who are unfamiliar with Snow – she is the definition of a self-made success story. Jumping into the game 10 years ago, Snow has gone from packing up her life and moving down to Texas in order for the chance to perform for South By Southwest Music Festival, being featured on 50 Cent’s website, getting signed to major label Atlantic Records, to now being a 100% full independent artist with millions of followers. Snow Tha Product is known for letting her bright and eccentric personality be the driving force behind her creative ways – from driving down the street in a pimped out kid’s Mercedes in “Goin’ Off” to plotting the perfect murder of Issues frontman, Tyler Carter, in an exceptionally brightly colored house in “Gaslight” – Snow is the type of artist who isn’t afraid to have fun with her work because at the end of the day her bars speak for themselves.

For the entire 2.31 minute video, Snow never moves off the box she sits on as a throne – armed with a bottle of bubbly and a sharp tongue, Snow lays in on those who have ever cast doubts onto her success. “I ain’t never had a handout or begged for no plate/But I feel bad for your mom for the bitch she raised…Bitch I paved my own way so you hate, I swerve…I don’t even look back, I know karma gon’ work.” With the rap game being one of the biggest boy’s clubs around, it’s no secret that other artists would throw shade and make excuses for the success that Snow Tha Product has seen – after all it can be quite frustrating to have a leg up being a male or having connections and still amounting to so little within the industry. While Snow doesn’t drop any specific names, fans can speculate and search the comments on any of her content for clues.
Although “On My Shit” doesn’t hold the classic ‘Snow-Styled’ over the top humor elements or extreme sex appeal that radiate through her other videos – this is one of those few instances where being surrounded by oversized stuff animals or gorgeous ladies dancing would take away from the words that she spits. The magic comes from the simplicity that drives this video – a few special effects matched with Snow’s booming personality allows this track to thrive.
