Ted When Eyes ClosedTed When shares his music video for “Eyes Closed” – another piece of the video series for his EP, morning. The cinematic video was artfully crafted to enhance the ethereal groove of the song. Ted When plans to release the last video of the series for “Don’t Feel Like Feeling” later this month.

“Eyes Closed” carries a light jive and deep in-the-pocket groove — a complete experimental and genre defying concoction by Ted When. His velvety smooth vocals deliver an effortless melody. The song is littered with harmonic reverberations, and a jazz aesthetic to fit the pulse. The main hook of the song is a simulating refrain, “I only see you with my eyes closed,” Ted sings. Towards the end of the track the beat turns to a pumping bass-driven shuffle, creating a mix of celestial polyphony.

The music video for “Eyes Closed” is the second to last in he series for his EP, morning. He collaborates with Canadian filmmaking collective, Black Lake, who has worked with 30 Seconds To Mars, Shallou, Martin Garrix and Khalid. Together, they make a high quality visual for “Eyes Closed.” It follows the story of a protagonist who wanders blindfolded in search for her love. She can only see them while blindfolded, and is lead through different settings in her journey by the glowing orb. The series of videos for morning all have different sets of characters, and the glowing orb is a uniting factor in all the songs, guiding everyone to a form of self-discovery.

Born in Cedar Rapids, Ted When formerly fronted Mansions on the Moon — with them, he’s toured alongside Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller and has worked in the studio with The Neptunes. He is a singer, songwriter and producer multi-talent who uses all of his talents and experiences to hone his new genre-defying sound. Reminiscent of the lightness of The Weeknd and lyricism similar to HAIM and Frank Ocean, Ted When has created his own unique soundscape.

His most recent release morning, is a six song collection. Following its release, When collaborated with artists like Nick Catchdubs, Lxury, Jubilee, High Klassified, DJ SWISHA, YehMe2 and Promnite. All are members of the Fools Gold label community, and the set of tracks from morning [along with a few new ones] were remixed and released under the title, evening. Now, Ted When is working on finishing the video series for morning, the last video “Don’t Feel Like Feeling” will arrive April 29th.
