Ted When shares the last video for his series with “Don’t Feel Like Feeling.” His EP, morning, is now complete with six songs and videos. For this last piece with video team, Black Lake [Martin Garrix & Khalid, 30 Seconds To Mars, Shallou], they paint a calm and dream-like visual for this story.
“Don’t Feel Like Feeling” is a light shuffling track with gentle vocals from Ted. Harmonies subtly sit in the back; it creates a holistically ethereal feel for the track that’s stable throughout. The addition of warm synths embraces the beefy bassline that holds the track together. Lush keys and acoustic guitar add layers of depth past the ethereal electronic elements of the track. There’s a jaunty quality to the track where the beat jumps in and out, and the keys play an unsettling interjection from time to time. When’s lyrics are confessional of deep emotions, “Get me out of here and close the door. Right now I don’t feel like feeling anything anymore.”
The music video for “Don’t Feel Like Feeling” follows the themes of the EP’s visuals. The focal aspect of each video tells a different story, but all include a glowing orb that guides the varying characters to a point of self-discovery. For this track, Ted takes us outside, to the shimmering waters on a beach, where a sun-kissed woman soaks in the great outdoors. The cinematography of this video creates a heavenly landscape. Thick neon clouds pants the sky and the wind caresses the woman’s garments as she aimlessly walks. She follows the orb along the shore, and soon the world backtracks like a tape. The woman steps out the waters, her clothes fall right back into place and she is perfectly dry and content on her stroll along the shore.
Ted When’s most recent EP morning, is a six-song collection. Following its release, When collaborated with artists like Nick Catchdubs, Lxury, Jubilee, High Klassified, DJ SWISHA, YehMe2 and Promnite. All are members of the Fools Gold label community, and the set of tracks from morning [along with a few new ones] were remixed and released under the title, evening.
