The Haunt Love You BetterThe next big name in music, The Haunt, shares their latest single “Love You Better.” It’s the band’s most mature release, and their second single of the year. The energetic punk-tinged, rock anthem prepares us for the release of the their next EP, Social Intercourse, which is scheduled to be released April 9th.

“Love You Better” is packed with racing guitars, explosive drum beats and a whole lot of attitude. It’s starts off contemplative with echoing delayed guitar melodies and vocalist Anastasia Grace takes the forefront. She lyrically sets the stage for the story, before kicking into full power-rock gear. Suddenly the beat slams into the chorus where Grace wails its addicting melodies, and the bass bangs in the heartbeat of the track. “And I love you more in my head, But I’ll love you better when I’m dead. And you love me more with every breath, But I’m stupid, sick, with no regret,” sings the chorus.

Anastasia Grace explains “Have you ever convinced yourself that you love someone when deep down you know they really aren’t right for you? That’s what ‘Love You Better’ is about. Trying to love someone as much as they love you, but you just can’t seem to do it. It’s about being attached to the idea of someone and learning when to walk away from things that aren’t right for you.” The ending for “Love You Better” comes to a chilling calm and drags out to close with the tragic line, “Now our worlds will never be the same.”

The video for the track features the bands lively performance. Anastasia plays a violent femme, in the cinematic portrayal of the song’s story. The aesthetically pleasing video includes bright reds, blacks and whites, the murder of a teddy bear and sweet cherry pie. Her brother is the bands guitarist and co-founder, Maxamillion Haunt says, “This music video is basically a chaotic look into a Haunt style romance. It goes to show that sometimes, no matter how much love you put into something, it will most likely still end in disaster.”

“Love You Better” is produced by Matt Good (Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead, Sleeping With Sirens). It  is the fifth release for the upcoming EP, Social Intercourse out via ONErpm. “Love You Better” joins previously released singlesBrag About,” “Constant,” “Wish You Stayed,” and “Twisted Dream” that will all be featured on the forthcoming EP.
