Irish rock band, The Midnight Preachers, have released their latest single, “Pusher Woman,” along with a tantalizing music video to accompany it. The track showcases the band’s dirty underground rock style, with bluesy bass and classic rock riffs. The video takes fans on a visual journey, with imagery and scenes that perfectly frame the scrawling lyrics. The sketches were actually drawn by The Midnight Preachers’ very own Emer McLaughlin on her iPad.

“Pusher Woman” was written by Eoghan MacSheain and Emer McLaughlin, produced by John Henry and mixed/mastered by Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal [Sons Of ApolloAsiaGuns N Roses]. Ron also produced their most recent single, “Holding On,” as well as their hit single, “California.”

The band rose onto the Irish music scene in late 2017 and quickly became known for its distinctive, underground rock style. They describe their sound as “born from the ashes of 70s classic rock… a fusion of Fleetwood MacRory Gallagher, and Led Zeppelin.” Eoghan MacSheain is the band’s singer, kickass guitarist, pianist, and producer. His energetic performance style is akin to that of artists like Rory Gallagher. His hard rock style seeps out in his guitar playing, and these talents are part of what landed him touring slots and performance opportunities with Bobby Kimball [Toto], Chris Slade [AC/DC], and signing endorsement deals with DiMarzio Electronics, Vigier Guitars, AMT Electronics, and Breedlove GuitarsEmer McLaughlin, the band’s talented bassist, is also responsible for bringing life to some of your favorite lines. With a voice to remember, Emer has been compared to Stevie Nicks, Kim Carnes, and Norah Jones. Along with a killer voice, her bass-playing skills have been compared to that of Phil Lynott. With a bluesy alto voice, she sings and co-writes all of the band’s songs.

Unlike many of today’s artists, The Midnight Preachers shy away from overexposure on social media and try to leave more of a mystery for the listeners to unfold. In doing so, they put their music first and worry less about keeping up an image. They shared their debut single, “California” on New Year’s Day in 2018. The track went on to hit #2 on the iTunes chart in Ireland. Soon after they went on a tour in Ireland, which culminated in a headline show with legendary guitar player Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (solo artist / ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist). After, the band returned to the studio to begin recording their debut EP, Desert Hymns.
