VALLEY has created an imaginative brand of indie-rock and spent their whole lives preparing for their latest release, MAYBE. The brand of the band was constructed abstractly to seize the difficulties, anxiety, and calamity that accompany the change from kid to adult helms the precise timeline and ethos the Toronto-based quartet experienced when they established VALLEY in their freshman year of college. VALLEY released the two-pack that features the original version of “There’s Still A Light In The House” plus a Chill Mix of the track that the band arranged while stuck in quarantine separately. They also pieced together footage of their time on the road in North America in a nostalgic-for-the-road visual. 

“MAYBE was a concept album about the in between – the grey parts that make us human,” drummer Karah James reflects on making the album. “It is about when you’re transitioning out of being a teenager into a young adult, things can be confusing; we wrote about what we knew best at the time.”

The band has developed an animate buzz for themselves, independently. “There’s Still A Light In The House” by VALLEY has garnered almost 10 million streams on Spotify alone and is currently outplaying 12 of the 40 songs on this week’s alternative charts.

With just two self-written, self-produced debut releases under their belt, including their EP This Room Is White, and full-length MAYBE, VALLEY has amassed nearly 38 million streams on Spotify alone. Propelling nearly 23 million listens on the power of five sparkling indie-bops, “Closer to the Picture,” “Push For Yellow (Shelter),” “A Phone Call in Amsterdam,” and “Park Bench,” in addition to “There’s Still A Light In The House,” MAYBE’s synth-drenched hooks, built to spiral around headphones, have propelled the band to a 2020 JUNO Award Nomination support slots with Lennon Stella and The Band Camino on sold out North American tours in 2019 and a confirmed support billing with LovelyTheBand.
