Australian pop-punk collective, Yours Truly are delivering yet another banger from their upcoming debut full-length record, Self Care. With just a few short weeks to go, Yours Truly keep dropping the hits that get you hyped up. “Funeral Home” has made its official debut on the interwebs and is already seeing an immense amount of praise across all platforms.

The track focuses on a sentiment that many of us often find ourselves dwelling on – everyone eventually dies. As people often do when someone dies, they hold a funeral, and for some it’s a time of celebration of the person’s life, while others view it as a form of closure. Frontwoman, Mikaila Delgado, found herself flooded with an array of thoughts as she mourned the loss of a loved one sharing, “I wrote ‘Funeral Home’ after going to a funeral and realizing how odd it is to be in a room of people you’re related to because someone has died. I was thinking about how sad it is that you miss the life of someone you have the same blood as and all of a sudden in tragedy everyone suddenly comes together as family yet then won’t talk until the next one.”

This bubbly pop-punk track delivers the ever real message to an infectious beat that makes it impossible to be sad. Too often when we morn the loss of someone, we get dragged into a rabbit hole of sad songs and mascara covered face – with “Funeral Home” there’s a light that shines across the darkness in a coexist manner. With its music video touching on the many stages of grief, it highlights the things that not enough people talk about – family, friends and strangers infiltrate your home and life under the guise of ‘are you alright’ and ‘I’m so sorry for your loss’. While there’s no one right way to grieve, always remember the most important step – assigning a trusted friend/family member to be the one who tells everyone to get the hell out.

“Funeral Home” joins Yours Truly’s previously released tracks, “Composure”, “Together”, and “Undersize” – which together have already garnered an incredible 750+ thousand streams collectively.
