INTERVIEW Pt 1: Find Out What Some Of Your Favorite Artists Are Celebrating As 2020 Finally Ends

Pt. 1 features: The Neverlutionaries – Outsider – Young Culture – Town Meeting – Stuck Out – Danny Goo – Julia Bhatt

2020 sure hasn’t been most of our day, week, month but especially not our year. However, even though many of us faced some of the most trying times of our lives this year, there is still much to celebrate. So we begged the question — despite 2020 housing some of the worst moments, what’s the best thing that’s happened to you? The Neverlutionaries, Outsider, Young Culture, Town Meeting, Stuck Out, Danny Goo and Julia Bhatt share their 2020 highlights.

Christopher Harold Wells [The Neverlutionaries]: “Finishing the upcoming record and finally having it ready for consumption has been the best thing! No matter how trying the last year has been, the coolest thing has been digging deep within myself and creating the last couple of songs necessary to complete this record and shed light on what I was feeling at that moment. Having something to focus on that was positive instead of focusing on the negativity of the unknown and watching CNN 24/7 wondering where the worlds gonna go next was also a wonderful thing in a curious time. Within the process of finishing the record, there was also a lot of personal growth as the extra time lead my mind to interesting places and it forced me to deal with somethings that I had placed deep within myself. Unresolved love, pondering life, the chaotic nature of life itself, etc. What started as fear in March has turned into an abundance of hope and promise for positive things to come in perfect time for the New Year. And believe you me, I’m ready for it!!!”

Outsider: “The best thing that happened to me this year was releasing an album and an EP in the same year. I feel like the songs are up there with the greats. Another great things was meeting my girlfriend Luzia. She is very kind and chill. I also had chronic fatigue for months and that recovery was also a great thing that happened. So 2020 was tough, but as my father says.. ‘It won’t always be dark at six’. And to quote my own lyric and paraphrase of Brautigan ‘We we gotta be machines of loving grace’.”

Alex Magnan [Young Culture]: “putting out our first full length 💿”

Josh [Stuck Out]: “Despite the obvious flaws in this year, I really enjoyed the time it gave me to slow down and take a break from the chaos of normal life. The strict lockdown we experienced in Melbourne, AUS meant that there was a lot more time in the day to catch up on things I’d always wanted to do but didn’t have the time. Whether that be writing music, watching films, calling family, I appreciated the time to think and work outside an hourly scheduled lifestyle.”

While this year didn’t exactly go according to plan, don’t forget to celebrate all the victories 2020 made you fight for – no matter how small. From releasing new singles, debut albums and signing record deals to simply getting the change to spend more quality time with friends and family — there will always be something to be grateful for because of 2020. To all the nurses, doctors, EMT/paramedics, first responders, frontline and essential workers, thank you for everything you’ve sacrificed, done, continue to do for all of us. To those who have lost a loved one to covid, is suffering or knows someone suffering due to the mayhem that this pandemic has caused — our hearts and love are with you. Stay safe, wear a mask and remember to tell everyone important to you that you love them.
