Indie-Pop duo D.U.M.B. Luck is starting 2022 off with their newest single“Banana Buckets.” D.U.M.B. Luck invites us on a West Coast vibing journey that expresses infatuation with easy-listening jazz and sun-dappled pop. Previously stepping out into then music scene under the name, Blubird, the budding musicians found themselves exclusively releasing music on Soundcloud, before widening their net on other streaming platforms. Before embarking on their new music conquest, Blubird found success in their biggest hit to date, “Mischief” — racked up a respectable 1.3 million streams on Spotify.

D.U.M.B. Luck’s previously released debut single “Joyful” offered smooth bass lines, funky drum beats, and an overall positive rock vibe. While “Joyful” played as their comeback as a duo, D.U.M.B. Luck’s new single showcases what fans can expect from them as they continue on this lucky journey. “Banana Buckets” was inspired by drum beats featured in Donkey Kong’s segment of the iconic video game, Super Smash Bros. The song first draws you with smooth guitar riffs and a catchy beat. The groove pulls you into a parallel universe that you daydream of. With compelling vocals and synthesizing jazz riffs, you’ll feel as if you’re relaxing on an island. It’s as if the band knew you needed this track to get you through your winter blues.

Consisting of Philadelphia high school pals Jack Correll and Luke Volkert, the duo hunkered down to complete this track after being separated during the lockdown. Both have accomplished creating their own Californian sound influenced by the likes of bands such as The Avalanches and Electric Guest. “Banana Buckets” with its funky percussion and sparse lyrics serve as your guide for this journey and will leave you feeling at ease. 

D.U.M.B. Luck is already breaking down walls of cliché Indie normalities and is excelling at producing music as unique as possible. We can’t wait to hear their next release!
