MGK also a musical switch up with his upcoming album ‘TICKETS TO MY DOWNFALL’

Machine Gun Kelly returns with a brand new track “Bullets With Names,” featuring Young Thug, RJMrLA, and Lil Duke. MGK is preparing to drop his upcoming album Tickets To My Downfall later this year, and claims he made this less of a rock album but hasn’t renounced rap music.

Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem have had lyrical disputes in their past releases, and “Bullets With Names” takes a shot at the real Slim Shady. The aggressive, yet smooth and energetic track mixes MGK’s spitfire with Young Thug’s rapid rhymes. At the beginning of the song, MGK raps “Killed me a goat so my jacket got stains on it / Wipin’ my nose like I got some cocaine on it / Pulled out his coffin and ate me a plate on it.” Young Thug opens with his a steady rap but then switches it up to his signature melodic flows. The song focuses on a stone-cold trap beat and delivers lyrically hard blows as a warning to people not to cross the powerhouse that is MGK.

MGK previewed his upcoming project with “Why Are You Here” back in December, where he showed off his rock skills. He confirmed the title of the LP in the new year but has not announced a release date yet. What we do know is that he has been in the studio with Blink 182’s Travis Barker – who is helping produce the record – Trippie Redd, Blackbear, Goody Grace, and Mod Sun. MGK announced in January that Bert McCracken from The Used will be featured on the album as well. The change in musical direction for MGK has fans intrigued and excited to hear what his newly developed pop-punk sound will feel like. The genre defier hinted at this musical switch up when he tweeted “Ten years later, people still don’t understand this one simple fact: you can’t box me into one genre,” over the summer.
